Floyd Mayweather Is Charging $1500 For Virtual Meet & Greets
Legendary boxer Floyd Mayweather has joined Fanmio and is charging fans up to $1500 to interact with him online.
It has previously been said Mayweather is struggling financially and will return to the ring in order to help balance his books. This blatant money grab appears to suggest those reports were right as he tries to cash in on fans anyway he can during the coronavirus enforced lockdown period.
Fanmio is offering several different packages in relation to the all-time great boxer, with prices ranging from $69.99 for a T-shirt all the up to $1500 to video chat with Mayweather. In a clip to promote his presence on the site, he said.
“I would love to invite you to Fanmio, where you can personally meet me, in a one-on-one video meet and greet.”
“Now here’s your chance, to meet me, no matter where you at around the world. You can ask me anything, ask me about all 50 fights, ask me what’s my eating regiment, ask me what’s my best fight, ask me what’s my best knockout, ask me what I do everyday, in retirement.
“To be the best, you must always work overtime. This event is unbelievable, you guys don’t won’t to miss out, I’ve got some exclusive pieces I will be signing just for this event. I can’t wait to meet you all, I want to meet your family, your friends.”
Mayweather joins other celebrities on the site such as John Cleese, Tim Curry and the Walking Dead’s Khary Payton.
‘Money’ retired from boxing in 2017 after making hundreds of millions to fight MMA superstar Conor McGregor. He later ended his retirement to face Tenshin Nasukawa in an exhibition bout in Tokyo – earning $9 million for the two-minute mismatch. Most recently he has spoken about linking up with UFC President Dana White and officially come out of retirement.
Is Floyd Mayweather taking advantage of his fans by charging such high prices for virtual meet and greets?
