DAZN Set For Global Launch On Dec. 2
DAZN is finally going global. The streaming service has announced that it will launch in over 200 countries on December 2.
To kick off its global launch, the company will be charging no more than £1.99 GBP per month for new countries it is launching in.
“From the UK to Mexico to Australia, we’ve seen an encouraging level of interest in our key events since first launching in 2016,” said DAZN EVP Joseph Markowski.
“We’re looking forward to introducing the DAZN platform around the world this December with an exciting schedule of fights.”
The first two shows to kick off DAZN’s global expansion will be Ryan Garcia vs. Luke Campbell on December 5, followed by Anthony Joshua vs. Kubrat Pulev on December 12.
Polish fans will miss out on the Garcia-Campbell, as the fight will not be available on Polish DAZN, but they will be able to watch Joshua- Pulev. However, UK and Ireland fans will not be able to get the Joshua fight for a low price as that bout will not be available on DAZN in those regions.
The big question a lot of boxing fans are asking is when Canelo Alvarez will finally get back into the ring. Alvarez, who signed a $365 million deal with DAZN-USA, has filed a lawsuit against Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN-USA, alleging the two companies breached the contract he signed with them.
