Terence Crawford Labels Kell Brook A Quitter Ahead Of November 14 Bout
We have an extremely meaningful welterweight match up this Saturday, as WBO Welterweight Champion Terence Crawford looks to make the fourth defense of his title against WBO Intercontinental Light-Middleweight Champion Kell Brook.
This fight will go down at the MGM Grand in Paradise, Nevada, November 14, on a linear ESPN platform.
These two got to get up close and personal with one another yesterday at their press conference, and Crawford didn’t pass up on his opportunity to play the mental game.
Crawford was asked about his media call with Brook on Monday, where Brook said he believes he can make the undefeated champion quit on the stool.
Crawford had the following to say in response: “He’s gonna have to, you know what I mean, live up to his words. I’m not the one that ever quit in a fight, I can’t say the same for him though.”
He was of course referring to Brook’s fight with Errol Spence Jr, where he took a knee after having his orbital bone broken in round 11. That was his second straight defeat, and to this day his last defeat.
The WBO Welterweight Champion is widely regarded the No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world, especially now that Vasyl Lomachenko lost, and he looks to keep that claim following Saturday night.
Crawford went 58-12 as an amateur before turning professional, while Brook went 31-5 as an amateur before turning professional, both of which won many tournaments and championships.
As professionals, Crawford is a perfect 36-0 with 27 knockouts. Brook is 39-2, and he too has 27 knockouts to his credit. After losing to Gennady Golovkin and Errol Spence Jr, Brook has won his last three straight with two knockouts.
Brook is the bigger man, having fought as high as 160 lbs, while Crawford has fought as low as 135 lbs. However, their frames suggest otherwise.
Crawford stands 5’8” with a 74” reach, while Brook stands 5’9” with a 69.5” reach. That makes things very interesting. This is a battle of the technicians!
