Tyson Fury’s Dad Bets David Haye £1Million ‘The Gypsy King’ Will Beat Anthony Joshua
A confident John Fury has offered former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion David Haye a million-pound bet his son Tyson Fury will beat British rival Anthony Joshua when the pair finally square off.
Fury Sr. is so confident ‘The Gypsy King’ will beat Joshua he offered Haye a £1 million wager at odds of 2/1 during ‘The Heavyweight Debate’ which airs on BT Sport tonight.
During the debate Fury Sr. took exception to what he believed to be a dig from Haye who said.
“If anyone on the planet is able to somehow find a way to beat Mr Invincible…”
“I know you’re having a bit of a go there. He is Mr Invincible, Fury interrupted. “How much do you want to put down on it? Shall we start with £1million?”
“No, let’s definitely not go with £1million,” a smiling Haye replied.
Fury remained determined to get the bet sorted and even offered ‘Haymaker’ 2-to-1 odds to try to get it over the line, he said.
“And I’ll give you 2/1, how’s that? He is Mr Invincible because he’s proved it.”
“I’m not betting against you, ever,” Haye replied.
WBC champion Fury is expected to square off against WBA, IBF, and WBO champion Anthony Joshua in a heavyweight undisputed fight in 2021. Before Fury and Joshua can fight, they must first have hurdles to overcome. ‘The Gypsy King’ has an ongoing contractual dispute with former WBC king Deontay Wilder who claims he is due an immediate rematch. Joshua has a mandatory fight against Kubrat Pulev which is scheduled to take place on December 12 in London.
