Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr.’s Salaries Revealed For Exhibition Bout
Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. will be cashing in big when they have their exhibition bout on Saturday night.
After months of talk that Tyson will be returning to the ring, he will make the walk again against Jones Jr. in an exhibition bout, but many are still excited for the return of both men. Although it is an exhibition, both boxing legends are still going to be making a pretty penny as Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports revealed the salaries both men will receive.
“Hearing that Tyson will make $10 million and Roy Jones +/- $3 million for their exhibition Saturday,” Iole tweeted.
There is no question this is a massive event and one many combat sport fans will be tuning into watch. It could be the last time people get to see Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. compete. So, it has also taken the gambling world by storm as books are releasing several props for the fight.
According to ODDS.com, some of the props available are the basics like Tyson or Jones Jr. wins by KO/TKO/DQ, or Tyson/Jones Jr. wins by decision. However, there are some unique ones like will either fighter quit on the stool and who either man will box next if they decide to compete again.
Mike Tyson has not fought since 2005 when he lost to Kevin McBride, to end his career on a two-fight losing streak. “Iron” is the former undisputed heavyweight champion and holds notable wins over Michael Spinks, Tony Tucker, and Larry Holmes among others.
Roy Jones Jr., meanwhile, has been a bit more active. He fought back in 2018 and is on a four-fight winning streak. The boxing legend holds notable wins over Bernard Hopkins, James Toney, and Otis Grant among others.
It is good to see both men are getting paid a hefty amount for their exhibition bout.
