Tyson Fury Claims He’ll Fight Anthony Joshua The Same Way He Did In Deontay Wilder Rematch
Tyson Fury plans on fighting Anthony Joshua the same as he did Deontay Wilder.
Fury became the WBC heavyweight champion after a seventh-round TKO win over Wilder in their February rematch last year.
The Briton notably came in heavier than he did for the first fight but it was all strategic as his speed remained but his power was more effective. This was evident as he came forward throughout the fight and knocked Wilder down twice en route to the finish.
And with a title unification fight with Joshua expected to be announced soon, Fury plans on fighting “AJ” the same exact way.
“[I’ll approach Anthony Joshua] just like I did with Wilder,” Fury said in a recent interview (via Bad Left Hook). “They said, ‘he’s [Fury] going to box and move, he ain’t going to put it on ya.’ What did I do? Straight at it, bombs all the way through until he got stopped.
“… [There’s no danger because] I’ve got a bigger heart. Tougher. Mentally stronger. Physically stronger. Bigger man completely. Punch harder. Everything is in my favor. When I take it to them, they can’t handle it. It’s like wrestling with a T-Rex. They can’t win. … I’m indestructible, unbeatable. Can’t be beat. If I’m injury free and active, there’s no losing. Can’t lose.”
Of course, Joshua is a better pure boxer than Wilder but Fury is arguably the best pure boxer in the heavyweight division.
And with the power he showed in his second fight with Wilder, he’s certainly become an even bigger threat now.
Do you think Fury will beat Joshua if he approaches him the same way as he did against Wilder last year?
