It is nice to see Mike Tyson share a message of support. Hagler meant so much to the boxing community and his passing was a surprise. It was also a nice message for Tyson to share his condolences and call the former undisputed champ one of the best warriors in the sport.
Marvin Hagler had his last pro fight in April of 1987 where he lost by split decision to Sugar Ray Leonard to lose his WBC and The Ring middleweight titles. He ended his career with a record of 62-3-2 and is hands down one of the best boxers of all-time. His career also ended early as he retired after the controversial loss to Leonard as he believed he was robbed of the win.
In his legendary career, Hagler picked up notable wins over Thomas Hearns, John Mugabi, Roberto Duran, and Alan Minter among countless others. He had 12 title defenses and reigned over the middleweight division from 1980 to 1987. He also holds the highest KO percentage of all undisputed middleweight champions, at 78 percent.
