Tyson Fury Predicts Billy Joe Saunders Will Give Canelo ‘A Boxing Lesson’

WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, is backing Billy Joe Saunders to spring a monstrous upset by beating Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez on May 8.

‘BJS’ is in the biggest fight of his career next month. The Englishman hopes to unify the super middleweight division by beating Mexican superstar, Canelo.

Saunders is a considerable underdog heading into the fight but is being back by his friend, Fury, who told Behind The Gloves he expects ‘BJS’ to give Canelo a boxing lesson.

“I think Billy Joe gives him a boxing lesson, “Fury said. “That’s what I’m here to see. That’s what I’m here to see and that’s what I think will happen.

“Everyone raves on about Canelo and how good he is and how he’s such a great guy and whatever. I just think every time Billy Joe steps into the pressure cooker he delivers. Much like myself.

Fury understands that Saunders is up against a good boxer.

“We’re up against a good fighter in Canelo, who’s strong and physically mature, big for the weight. And likes to hold his feet and fire good, hard punches. He’s got good head movement and that.

‘The Gypsy King’ was keen to highlight the strengths of Saunders and explained exactly what the WBO champion is fighting for on May 8.

“Billy Joe is a master boxer. A slick southpaw with good footwork and good ring IQ… I know he’ll fancy this one. It’s a lot on the line. What’s on the line here is the difference between being a world champion twice. Or going down as a great in the sport. This is what’s on the line here. I definitely think he’s going to shock a lot of people and it’s going to be an easier fight than people think it is.”

Do you agree with Tyson Fury? Will Billy Joe Saunders beat Canelo on May 8?
