George Foreman Impressed With Logan Paul Who ‘Dominated’ Floyd Mayweather At Times In Exhibition Bout
George Foreman was impressed by Logan Paul in his exhibition bout against Floyd Mayweather on Sunday.
In Miami, Foreman was in attendance to watch the Mayweather-Paul bout and was impressed by it. He says he was entertained and thought Paul did much better than he thought.
“It was an exciting night for me,” ‘Big’ George told USA Today, explaining he wasn’t expecting to be as entertained. “Believe me; some guys would say, ‘I’m turning this off now.’ I would not leave the television because, at any second, I thought Mayweather might take him out, then the kid starts jumping around using his jab and dominating. He didn’t have the experience Mayweather had, but he dominated with his size.”
Although some boxing purists have criticized the exhibition and celebrity boxing bouts, Foreman says he actually enjoys the exhibition bouts more than legit boxing fights. He said they have a good entertainment value and it’s good to see legends remain fighting.
“The strangest thing is I’m starting to enjoy these exhibitions a lot more than the so-called competitive fights they put on because there’s no entertainment value to those,” Foreman said. “These have entertainment value. Mayweather turned into the slugger, following the guy around. And [Paul] is as long as Wilt Chamberlain with that jab. It was exciting.”
The next big exhibition bout will happen between Evander Holyfield and Kevin McBride. Their bout was postponed and will likely happen later this year. Mike Tyson is also expected to have another exhibition bout.
As for Mayweather, he said that was likely the last time he fights but for Logan Paul, there is no doubt he will have another fight in the coming months.
