VIDEO: Conor Benn Defeats Adrian Granados In Leeds
Conor Benn scored a victory over Adrian Granados in Leeds, England.
Benn vs. Granados took place inside Emerald Headingley Stadium. It was featured on the Mauricio Lara vs. Josh Warrington 2 card. The bout ended up going the distance.
All three judges scored the fight for Benn.
After the fight, Benn said he thought Granados would engage more in the fight.
“It was very frustrating, he was on his bike the whole fight. I thought he was going to stand toe to toe but I had to hunt him down.”
Ahead of the fight, Matchroom Boxing’s Eddie Hearn told Daily Star that he’s laid out a plan that will lead to Benn fighting for a world title by the end of 2022.
“We have mapped out a plan to take him to the world title over five fights so by the end of next year he will fight for the world title. There are a lot of people talking about Shawn Porter and I think Granados is perfect. It is a bit tougher than Samuel Vargas, I think he will go deeper into the fight and ask him a few questions.
“He still needs those type of fights and quite frankly when he is hitting the numbers he is hitting, we don’t want to see him in a 50-50 fight just yet.”
With the win over Granados, Conor Benn improved his pro boxing record to 19-0. Time will tell who Benn will fight but many have speculated that Adrien Broner could be the next one to meet him in the ring. If Benn can keep producing victories, then he could very well be fighting for the title within the time he envisions.
