Jake Paul Says He Would Box Tyson Fury If He Dropped To Cruiserweight
Jake Paul would be open to boxing Tyson Fury under one condition.
Paul was supposed to box Fury’s half-brother in Tommy on December 18 but it was revealed on Monday that Tommy was forced out of the bout with an injury. Although Paul said he isn’t sure if he would fight Tommy, he says he would be interested in facing Tyson.
“I would fight the whole family. If Tyson moved down to cruiserweight I would fight Tyson no problem,” Paul told talkSPORT.
In the lead-up to the scheduled Fury-Paul fight, Tyson was going to corner his brother and said Tommy would beat up Jake Paul even with injuries. Yet, that ended up not happening as Tommy ended up pulling out with a broken rib.
“Tommy could have his worst night ever and still beat Jake Paul,” Tyson Fury said. He could probably turn up with broken ribs, a broken left hand, two left feet, his clothes on back to front and a flue and he would still beat him. That is how confident I am that he can beat Jake Paul.”
According to Jake Paul, he believes the injury may have happened when Tyson Fury was throwing medicine balls on Fury’s abs which Jake says may have caused the injury.
“I have seen the footage and who knows it is very possible,” Paul told the MMA Hour when asked if the drill could have caused Fury’s injury. It is very possible that could break a rib for sure, when I do that drill we take precautions and are careful because you hear stories of fighters getting injured while trying to work on their abs. Who knows what happened but all of it seems very shady.”
