Eddie Hearn Believes Derek Chisora Can Beat Deontay Wilder: ‘Gotta Get Past Four’
Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn believes Derek Chisora can defeat Deontay Wilder — but it won’t be easy.
Chisora is coming off a unanimous decision defeat to Joseph Parker in their rematch this past weekend.
Despite suffering multiple knockdowns, Chisora bounced back and had many moments. In the end, it wasn’t enough to get him a win, but he certainly earned more respect from the boxing world for his heart and fighting spirit.
And although it was his third defeat in a row, Hearn believes all 12 of Chisora’s defeats have come to elite level fighters.
Former WBC heavyweight champion Wilder certainly counts as elite for Hearn and he believes Chisora is capable of defeating him.
Provided he is able to survive the first four rounds (via Michael Benson).
“All Chisora’s losses have come at elite level, and Wilder is elite level. Chisora can beat Wilder. If that fight goes past four, Chisora wins. But he’s gotta get past four, that’s gonna be dangerous.”
Of course, Hearn is naturally a bit biased as he promotes Chisora and while he could win, Wilder will still likely be a heavy favorite.
Regardless, do you agree with Eddie Hearn and do you want to see this fight next?
