Dillian Whyte Explains Media Silence Ahead Of Tyson Fury Fight
Dillian Whyte has finally explained his media silence ahead of his massive fight against Tyson Fury on Saturday.
Whyte is set for the WBC and The Ring heavyweight title which is a long time coming for the Brit. He won the interim WBC heavyweight title last time out against Alexander Povetkin, but when this fight was announced, Whyte took a long time to sign his contract and never attended the press conference. Now, ahead of the fight Whyte says he has been frustrated how everyone just thinks this is the Tyson Fury show.
“This is a business,” Whyte told reporters (via SkySports). “It’s not the Tyson Fury show. Everybody saying Tyson Fury this, Tyson Fury that. This fight sold out because of me and Tyson Fury, Tyson Fury fought Wilder, he’s a big superstar. It’s not just the Tyson Fury show, it’s the Tyson Fury and Dillian Whyte show so some things need to be done correctly. I don’t dance to nobody’s tune, I’m a warrior, we can dance together but it can’t be one-way traffic.
“I’m a disciplined guy and I’ve learned to be disciplined over the years. Okay, you want me to do things? That’s cool, I’m up for that, I’m a professional, I’ve had six or seven pay-per-view shows and worked hard on all of them and looked after my opponents and dealt with them correctly,” Whyte continued. “When these guys are trying to mug me off and treat me like it’s the Tyson Fury show, they’ve got to get certain things correct. I’m a professional at the end of the day, so here I am. I’m here and ready.”
Dillian Whyte enters the fight coming off the TKO win over Alexander Povetkin back in March 2021. Prior to that, he suffered the massive upset TKO loss to Povetkin in August 2020 which triggered an immediate rematch. Now, he has the shot to become the heavyweight champ and cement his legacy on Saturday night.
Who do you think will win, Dillian Whyte or Tyson Fury?
