Devin Haney Claims George Kambosos Jr. Is Putting On An Act
Devin Haney thinks George Kambosos Jr. is putting on an act and isn’t showing his true self.
Haney and Kambosos Jr. are set to fight in an undisputed lightweight title fight as Haney is putting up his WBC strap while Kambosos Jr. is defending his WBA, IBF, and WBO belts. Before the fight takes place, the two have taken shots at one another and Haney claims Kambosos Jr. is putting on an act.
“This is the same George that I’ve always seen. He’s nothing but an actor,” Haney insisted when asked on stage of his thoughts on the undefeated Aussie (via BoxingScene). “He’s putting on an act. He’s putting on a facade.”
“Just like I acted with Lopez,” Kambosos immediately replied, talking over Haney as has been the case whenever the two have been in the same setting.
Devin Haney is 27-0 and coming off the win over Joseph Diaz to defend his belt last December after defeating Jorge Linares prior to that. In his career, he holds notable wins over Yuriorkis Gamboa, Zaur Abdullaev, and Juan Carlos Burgos among others.
George Kambosos Jr., meanwhile, is coming off an upset win over Teofimo Lopez to hand him his first loss and become the new champ.
Although Kambosos Jr. had a great performance, Haney is confident he will get his hand raised and plans to put on a show for the boxing fans.
“At the end of the day, I take nothing away from him,” Haney said of Kambosos. “I have respect for him and I look forward to putting on a show for the fans.”
Who do you think will win, Devin Haney or George Kambosos Jr.?
