Tyson Fury Confident Joe Joyce Would ‘Wipe The Floor’ With Anthony Joshua
Tyson Fury doesn’t think a fight between Joe Joyce and Anthony Joshua would be all that competitive.
After Joshua lost back-to-back fights to Oleksandr Usyk to lose his heavyweight title and push him out of the title picture for the time being, many were uncertain what would be next for him. Several boxers have been vocal in saying they want the fight, but the biggest was Fury, yet he doesn’t think the fight will ever happen.
“I don’t think it will happen,” Fury told IFL TV (h/t BoxingScene). “If it was going to happen it would have happened in December when Chisora maned up and stepped up to the plate. I can guarantee you will not see it, one hundred percent not happening, like you didn’t see Calzaghe and Froch. But I’m going to take on the man that has beaten him twice so it’s irrelevant. I’m going to knock out the guy that beat him twice.”
“Me and Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world [is bigger], two undefeated champions not a man who has been beaten in three of his last five fights,” Fury continued. “He doesn’t bring anything to the table. In terms of money, I’ll earn double the amount from Usyk than from the other sausage. I’m looking to fight Usyk, Joshua’s nemesis, the man who made him cry like a little girl, ‘I’m 18 stone’. So, I’m 20 stone.”
Although Tyson Fury doesn’t think he will ever fight Anthony Joshua, he does think a logical matchup would be Joe Joyce. However, Fury doesn’t think the fight would be close.
“I think so. I think he wipes the floor with Joshua anyway but then again, we’ll never see it,” Fury said.
As of right now, however, no fight has been set for Joshua’s return.
