Deontay Wilder Tells Andy Ruiz Jr. To Stop Playing And Accept The Fight
Deontay Wilder is hoping to finally secure a fight with Andy Ruiz Jr.
Wilder is without an opponent and has been linked to both Anthony Joshua and Ruiz Jr., and the former heavyweight champ is frustrated with Ruiz Jr. for not signing the contract.
“We offered you a lot of money and I think you should take it,” Wilder said (h/t BoxingScene). “I don’t want you to allow others to dictate your career at this moment in time bro. You only have a limited time left to make as much money as you possibly can. Don’t allow others to interfere with this, you make the decision. It wouldn’t be fair to you or your kids if you miss out on zeros if you allow others to interfere. Think about it bro. Let’s get this thing done, signed, sealed and delivered. I am sick and tired of waiting around, let’s give the people what they are asking for and what they want. Enough is enough, the ball is in your court now.”
Deontay Wilder also didn’t stop there as he took to social media to take aim at Andy Ruiz Jr. and his father for being so difficult in contract negotiations.
“Stop playing around Andy Ruiz and be a man and make your own decisions and not allow your daddy to mess up your last few years. It’s okay to be that [daddy’s boy] but you’re a grown-ass man with children depending on you. Remember that before it’s too late, then you’ll have regrets while your father lectures you on how you should have saved your money,” Wilder stated.
Wilder is currently 43-2-1 as a pro and coming off a KO win over Robert Helenius back in October.
