John Fury Plan To Confront Mike Tyson On Fight Week For Training Francis Ngannou
John Fury says he will be confronting ‘traitor’ Mike Tyson next week.
John named his son Tyson Fury after the legendary heavyweight boxer, but Mike Tyson will now be training and cornering Francis Ngannou to box ‘The Gypsy King’ on Saturday.
After seeing Mike Tyson train Francis Ngannou, John Fury calls him a traitor and says he wants to fight him and will confront him next week.
“[I’d like to fight] Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson, I’m going to the top of the tree. And he’s a traitor, and I’m going to tell him so in Saudi next week. Next week, he’ll be told,” John Fury told Fight Hub TV (h/t BoxingScene).
Ahead of the fight, Tyson Fury is a sizeable favorite to defeat Francis Ngannou, and John Fury is extremely confident. After seeing some training footage of Ngannou, John wasn’t impressed at all and expects his son to run through the former UFC champ.
“I hope he’s kidding along and he’s playing possum here. I hope that’s a joke and intended to be a laugh. Because if it’s not, he ain’t got a prayer. He ain’t got a cat in hell’s chance. He won’t get out of the first round. It’s probably going to be Tyson’s quickest knockout,” John Fury said.
“But you know what? It’s got to be kidology, that. It’s got to be fun and games. Because if that’s what he’s got, well, God help him, he’ll get smashed to bits. That’s all I’m saying, mate. That’s embarrassing. If that’s what he can do on a public workout, don’t bother doing a public workout. It’s a disgrace,” John Fury continued.
Should Tyson Fury beat Francis Ngannou, he will face Oleksandr Usyk to unify the heavyweight division next time out.
Do you think John Fury will actually confront Mike Tyson?
