Dmitry Bivol Believes Artur Beterbiev Is The ‘Hardest Test’ Of His Career
Dmitry Bivol knows his potential fight against Artur Beterbiev will be a tough test for him.
After Beterbiev scored a stoppage win over Callum Smith, all signs pointed to him fighting Bivol next time out. It would be a massive fight, and although Bivol has the win over Canelo Alvarez, he believes Beterbiev would be the hardest test for him.
“Yeah, to be honest, I believe that it’s the hardest test,” Bivol said Matchroom’s YouTube channel (h/t BoxingScene). “Why? Because he’s stronger. I know he’s physically stronger than Canelo and he has good technique, too. Many people talks about his power, but they forget about his technique, because his power is too much better than his technique. But he still has good technique.”
Part of the reason why Dmitry Bivol thinks Artur Beterbiev could pose some problems is because of his power and strength. Bivol knows Beterbiev can end the fight with one punch which is a challenge.
“First of all, he’s strong,” Bivol said. “He’s very strong. He’s like stone, you know? His punches is very hard and his body is hard. And then, he believe in himself a lot. And he has experience, a lot of experience. If you see on his record, yeah, it’s not too much fights for pro. But he has a big, a lot of experience in amateur. It helps him. And what else? He uses body shots with the right hand. It’s [a] good body shot. And he’s strong. This is one of the important things.”
As of right now, Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol is not booked and when it may come to fruition is uncertain. But, the hope is the fight will happen this year and it will be a highly-anticipated matchup.
