Tyson Fury Shuts Down Retirement Talk

Tyson Fury has no signs of retiring anytime soon.

Fury was scheduled to fight Oleksandr Usyk for the undisputed heavyweight title in a highly-anticipated matchup. However, the fight was postponed until May 18 in Saudi Arabia, due to Fury having a cut above his eye.

Since then, there have been talks that Fury was afraid of Usyk and will retire soon, but ‘The Gypsy King’ says that is far from the case.

“I keep hearing talk of people saying I should retire or I’m going to retire soon or whatever,” Fury said on social media. “I ain’t retiring — I’ve got two fights with Usyk for the undisputed, twice. Then I’m going to fight AJ at least once, maybe twice, if there’s a rematch – if he wants one after the first battering I give him. Then I’m going to fight Ngannou again. That’s just the start. There’s five fights for you to whet your appetite. I ain’t going nowhere. I’m 35 years old and in the prime of my life.”

It is good news for fans that Tyson Fury has no thought of retiring anytime soon. The Brit is one of, if not the biggest name in boxing right now, and there are several fights involving Fury that people want to see.

But, for right now, Fury is focused on the rescheduled Usyk matchup in May and the Brit has full confidence in himself to get the win.

Tyson Fury is currently 34-0-1 and coming off the split decision win over Francis Ngannou. Before that, he scored a TKO win over Derek Chisora. In his career, he holds notable wins over Deontay Wilder, twice, Otto Wallin, Wladimir Klitschko, and Christian Hammer among others.
