Shakur Stevenson Believes William Zepeda ‘Would Bring The Best Out Of Me’
Shakur Stevenson thinks a fight against William Zepeda will bring the best out of him.
Stevenson is coming off a lackluster win over David Avanesyan and is looking for his next fight as a free agent. He says he has yet to make a decision on what promoter he will sign with, but he believes there are big fights out there for him.
“It’s lovely. I love seeing how everybody is out after me,” Stevenson said on DAZN. “I haven’t really made a decision yet. I can’t wait to sit at the table and talk and see who has the best options and set-up for me. And we’ll see where we go from there. I want big fights. There are a lot of big-name fighters out there – William Zepeda, Gervonta Davis, Vasiliy Lomachenko – I want the biggest and best fights out there that are available.”
One fight that many fans think want to see is Stevenson vs Zepeda, which would be a highly-anticipated fight and one Stevenson would be eager for as well.
“Zepeda is a hell of a fighter,” said Stevenson. “I don’t even think I’ve been in the ring in my professional career with a fighter like that. He throws a bunch of punches. He’s great with his own style and a guy like that will bring the best out of me.”
Shakur Stevenson is 22-0 as a pro and is coming off a decision win over Avanesyan. Before that, he scored a decision win over Edwin De Los Santos. Stevenson also has notable wins over Shuichiro Yoshino, Robson Conceicao, and Jamel Herring.
