Anthony Joshua Plans To Give Fans ‘Dominance’ Against Daniel Dubois

Anthony Joshua plans to have a dominant performance against Daniel Dubois.

Joshua is set to face Dubois on Sept. 21 for the IBF heavyweight title at Wembley Stadium. It’s an intriguing matchup in a fight where the winner could face the winner of Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury.

“You can say so. Always developing, always learning,” Joshua said to Queensberry. “I do look back at my old fights as well. At the end of the day they were different types of opponents. I could have been beating a lot of lesser challenging opponents for many, many years. I could have been coming into my world title years now but I’ve done it early. So what I’m trying to say is that when I’m fighting guys, it’s hard to look unbelievable against someone that’s basically on the same level as you. World championship fights, they’re 50-50. But I get it. People, they expect a lot. They want to see dominance.”

If Anthony Joshua does dominate Daniel Dubois as he says he will, it would be a statement performance from the former champ. It would be a statement win and one Joshua is looking for. Joshua enters the bout as a -550 favorite while Dubois is a +380 underdog.

Anthony Joshua is 28-3 as a pro and is riding a four-fight winning streak. He is coming off a KO win over Francis Ngannou and before that, he beat Otto Wallin by stoppage, a KO win over Robert Helenius and a decision win over Jermaine Franklin.

Daniel Dubois, meanhwile, is 21-2 and coming off an upset TKO win over Filip Hrgovic back in June after he beat Jarrell Miller in December. Before that, Dubois suffered a controversial stoppage loss to Oleksandr Usyk. His other loss came by KO to Joe Joyce.
