Terence Crawford Knows He’d Beat Canelo Alvarez
Terence Crawford knows he will beat Canelo Alvarez, especially after Saturday’s performance.
Alvarez dominated Edgar Berlanga on Saturday in a lopsided performance. After the win, many called for the Mexican to box Terence Crawford next time out in what would be a highly-anticipated bout.
Many would be torn on who would win, but Crawford is confident he would beat Alvarez with ease.
“Of course, I’d beat him. It ain’t no doubt in my mind that I beat anyone that I step in the ring with… Canelo is bigger than me and stronger than me. We’re both giving away something, but we’re both gaining something at the same time,” said Terence Crawford to TMZ Sports. “I don’t know. Canelo has his own agenda that he wants to handle. So, whatever he decides to do, it’s on him. But if he do decide to come the Crawford route, we’re going to be ready.”
The hope for Terence Crawford is Turki Alalshikh will help stage the fight as he believes it is a fight that all boxing fans want to see. But, whether or not it would happen is to be seen.
“I couldn’t really say. I would hope that it would be somewhere where it can benefit both parties,” said Crawford. “If he do decide to come my way and me and him get in the ring, it would be an electrifying fight. It won’t be like any other fight that he’s fought recently, and it would be a well-fought fight for both of us, I believe,” said Crawford about Canelo.
Crawford is 41-0 as a pro and coming off a decision win over Israil Madrimov back in August. Before that, he had arguably the biggest win of his career as he scored a KO win over Errol Spence Jr. in a statement-making performance.
