Anthony Joshua Has No Plans To Retire, According to Eddie Hearn

Eddie Hearn says Anthony Joshua has no plans to retire following his KO loss to Daniel Dubois.

Joshua was upset by Dubois and after the loss, some fans thought that would be it for him. However, Hearn says he spoke to Joshua and the Brit still continues to box after the loss.

“I had a great chat with him yesterday, and he’s like, ‘Look, I feel great. Even after getting beat, I feel great,'” Hearn said to TMZ Sports… “I’d love to actually sit here now and say, ‘Oh, camp was terrible. He was injured. He was ill. He didn’t look very good.’ He looked great. You know, his sparring was fantastic. He’s been on this great run where he’s looked in tremendous form and he didn’t perform on the night. So we have to go away and the team has to go away and ask why.”

Joshua, however, did tell Hearn if he thinks he should be done to tell him, but the promoter says that isn’t the case at all.

“[AJ] did also say to me, ‘Look, I know I’m a fighter. So whenever you feel as well and my team feel we should have that conversation, make sure you let me know.’ And I said, ‘Look, honestly, I don’t think that’s a conversation we should be having yet.'”

Ultimately, Eddie Hearn expects Anthony Joshua to continue to box and believes the Brit will fight two times in 2025 as he looks to rebuild.

“I think he’ll chill out for now and look to have two of the biggest fights he can possibly have in 2025. And beyond that, who knows what’s going to happen,” Hearn added.

With the loss to Dubois, Anthony Joshua is 28-4 as a pro and before the loss, he was on a four-fight winning streak. Joshua is a two-time former unified world heavyweight champion.
