Tim Tszyu Says He’ll ‘Be In Big Fights Soon’ Despite Latest Loss

Tim Tszyu knows he still is one of the best boxers and will be involved in big fights, despite the recent loss.

Tszyu is coming off a stunning third-round stoppage loss to Bakhram Murtazaliev on Saturday night. Tszyu was dropped four times as he was never in the fight and it was a stunning result.

Following the loss, Tszyu took to social media to share a statement and confirm he would continue fighting. He believes he will be back getting big fights soon.

“I got caught with a shot and just couldn’t move on,” Tszyu said on social media. “Kept getting up but that wasn’t good enough. Congrats to my opponent on a tremendous performance. But yeah, we move on, regroup and my team will be back.

“I will be back and still be in big fights soon,” Tszyu added. “But now I’ve got to find plenty of answers from myself, of course.  The main thing my dad told me when I was young was to never give up. If you shoot for the stars and you crash and burn along the way, just keep going. And I’m going to keep going.”

With the loss, Tim Tszyu is now 24-2 as a pro and riding a two-fight losing streak. Before the stunning loss to Murtazaliev, he suffered a split decision loss to Sebastian Fundora.

Tszyu also said after the fight that he goes in there willing to die and did that against Murtazaliev.

“Every time I step into the ring, I’m willing to die in here. The better man won tonight,” said Tszyu, via ESPN, moments after the fight had ended. “After the first shot, things didn’t go according to plan. That’s boxing. You get hit and your reactions are slower. I tried my best and these things happen. You live and you learn, right? He’s the man.”

Tszyu has notable wins over Brian Mendoza, Carlos Ocampo, and Tony Harrison among others.
