Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk – are you excited?
Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk 2 is almost upon us as fight week descends on Saudi Arabia once again. The big question is this: how excited is everyone feeling?
Not so long ago, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk met for the right to be called the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world. On that occasion, it was Usyk who was able to get his hand raised – and he did so in fairly decisive fashion, even coming close to finishing ‘The Gypsy King’.
Alas, we always knew that Tyson Fury would never take that lying down. Instead, he’s invoked his rematch clause, and he’s ready to prove to the masses why he belongs back at the top of the mountain.
Of course, some would argue that it’s hard to get quite as pumped up for this once given the constant, relentless political nature of professional boxing. It’s the kind of sport that always keeps you guessing, but that’s often not a positive thing.
Can Tyson Fury get the job done?
From stripping fighters of belts to the majority of big showdowns now being held in Saudi Arabia, it certainly feels like the priority is money above all else. Alas, that’s the way we’ve seen the sporting landscape shift for years now, but it can still feel a bit disappointing.
With all of that being said, from a pure technical point of view, it’s hard not to be intrigued by what we’re going to see. Tyson Fury is clearly the bigger man, but Oleksandr Usyk just seems to have found a style that makes him almost impossible to defeat.
If Fury is going to get his revenge, he needs to use his size and power to his advantage. It’s going to be tough, and perhaps the biggest challenge of his career, but you can bet millions will tune in to see it.
