Chris Eubank Jr. opens as betting favorite to beat Conor Benn in April grudge fight
Undisputed IBO middleweight champion, Chris Eubank Jr. has opened as a sizeable betting favorite to defeat former WBA continental gold holder, Conor Benn later this annum — with the two expected to finally share the ring in a heated grudge fight in April of this annum in a fierce battle in London.
First scheduled to fight back in 2022, until unbeaten contender, Benn was pulled from the bout after testing positive for the banned substance, clomiphene.
Himself most recently taking to the ring back in October on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol’s massive title fight, Eubank Jr. landed the IBO middleweight crown with an eventual seventh round knockout win over Kamil Szeremeta.

And reportedly set to do battle in April, Chris Eubank Jr. has opened as an impressive -130 betting favorite to defeat the unbeaten +100 betting underdog, Conor Benn — with Winner Picks Tips sure to provide punters and bettors the best props and suggestions of betting ahead of the massive all-British grudge fight in just a few months’ time.
The slated pairing of the duo rekindles the familial rivalry between the Eubanks and the Benns — with the youngster’s fathers — Chris Sr. and Nigel competing in a duo of matches.
First fighting back in 1990 in a massive WBO middleweight championship fight, Chris Eubank Sr. turned in an impressive ninth round knockout win over Nigel Benn.
And three years later in a rematch clash at Old Trafford, Eubank Sr. successfully retained his WBO super-middleweight crown in a split decision draw against Benn.
With negotiations reportedly done for an April showdown in the capital, Eubank Jr. boldly claimed that incoming foe, Benn did not deserve a 50-50 purse split in a fight against him — effectively labelling himself as the ‘A-side’ of the predicament.
“Of course they [Conor Benn’s team] don’t want to budge,” Chris Eubank Jr. said back in December. These guys, their greed is what’s stopping the fight from happening. The bottom line is the A-side doesn’t split 50/50 with the B-side and I am the A-side. Once they comes to terms with that then the fight will be made.”
Himself boasting an impressive 23-0 professional boxing record, Greenwich native, Benn has turned in notable career wins over the likes of Samuel Vargas, Chris Algieri, Chris van Heerden, and most recently in his return to the ring following his anti-doping suspension, turned in a unanimous decision win over Peter Dobson back in February of last year.
Suffering a trio of losses in his own professional boxing career, Chris Eubank Jr. would drop his most recent defeat in a stunning fourth round knockout loss to Liverpool veteran, Liam Smith in an upset loss — before avenging the blemish in a tenth round stoppage in the pair’s immediate rematch.
And in 2014 and 2017 respectively, Eubank Jr. would suffer a pair of decision losses to the now-retired duo of Billy Joe Saunders, and George Groves.
Over the course of his gold laden career to boot, Chris Eubank Jr. has beaten Gary O’Sullivan, Avni Yildirim, James DeGale, Matt Korobov, and Liam Williams.
