Terence Crawford, Canelo Alvarez

Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford have reportedly agreed to a deal that will see them compete against one another in September.

According to The Ring, the fight that has been talked about for years is now finally going to take place. It will reportedly take place as the main event of a Riyadh Season card, on a September date that has yet to be 100% confirmed. It will also go down in Las Vegas, however, the venue has also not been confirmed, opening it up to the possibility of a stadium show if they don’t go down the usual T-Mobile Arena route.

Canelo Alvarez would be putting his super middleweight titles on the line against Crawford who, in the eyes of many, is the best pound-for-pound fighter in all of boxing today. These two men have made it crystal clear that they’re open to throwing down and now, they are seemingly set to collide in the kind of generation-defining fight that will send shockwaves through the combat sports world.

It was Canelo Alvarez who needed some convincing, but it appears as if he’s come round to the idea of meeting Crawford in the middle of the ring.

Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford in place?

Fights like this don’t exactly come around every day. When you’ve got two fighters who are willing to put it all in the line in the name of securing their legacy, you know that you’re in for something special. Canelo Alvarez tends to take a lot more criticism out of the two, and perhaps that’s one of the reasons why he’s opting to take on this challenge.

As for Terence Crawford, he knows this will serve as the toughest test of his career to date. Alas, something tells us that isn’t going to bother him a whole bunch.

Get ready, folks.
