Anthony Joshua’s future: Eddie Hearn calls him the “money” of heavyweight division

Matchroom Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn has provided an update on the future of Anthony Joshua – while praising his fighter at the same time.
As we know, Anthony Joshua is one of the biggest and best heavyweight boxers of his generation. He has fought some greats of the game and while he hasn’t always walked away with the win, he’s managed to build quite a legacy for himself ever since he first appeared on the amateur stage.
However, after his knockout defeat to Daniel Dubois, many have wondered what exactly could be next for Anthony Joshua. There are obviously some big money fights out there for him, with the obvious one being against Tyson Fury. Unfortunately, ‘The Gypsy King’ has now retired, prompting question marks over what else could be on the cards for AJ.
In a recent interview, Eddie Hearn gave his thoughts on what is on the horizon for Anthony Joshua.
Eddie Hearn praises Anthony Joshua
“To the disappointment of many, AJ is still the money of the heavyweight division, and we can fight whoever we want,” said Eddie Hearn to Ariel Helwani about Anthony Joshua being the fighter that brings in more money than the other heavyweights. “AJ has two or three [fights left].”

Anthony Joshua has earned the right to select who he fights next after an excellent career. Alas, it’s hard to say who else could be available if not for Tyson Fury. There’s a chance he tackles Deontay Wilder, but given how many years it’s been since that fight was first considered, you’d have to think the appetite for it has decreased substantially.
Eddie Hearn, meanwhile, will continue to back his man. Hopefully, we’re able to get some kind of announcement sooner rather than later for a fight in 2025.
