Ryan Garcia set to headline insane Times Square card

Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney

Ryan Garcia looks set to headline an insane card that will emanate from Times Square, New York – with Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez also being part of the mix.

As we know, Ryan Garcia is a controversial figure. Despite that, he’s still one of the biggest names in the world of professional boxing, and a lot of that stems from his controversial victory over Devin Haney. Regardless of how you look at his career up to this point, nobody can deny that he gets people talking.

Right now, one of the most influential figures in the sport is Turki Alalshikh. As much as he may be a controversial name in his own right, with Saudi Arabia’s boxing influence constantly being called into question, he’s certainly putting on big fights – and Ryan Garcia is right there in the melting pot.

As announced by Alalshikh, the following fights are set to take place in Times Square on May 2.

Ryan Garcia set to headline blockbuster card

Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero

Devin Haney vs Jose Ramirez

Teofimo Lopez vs Arnold Barboza

This is what you call a major card. There are so many things to like about these three matchups, but beyond that, we have to talk about the location. The plan, seemingly, is to turn Times Square into some kind of boxing venue. We have no idea how they’re going to actually pull it off, but you’d have to think the visual alone will be pretty incredible if they can make it look good.

Ryan Garcia vs Rolly Romero is the kind of contest that is bound to produce fireworks. As for the rest of the card, we’re just excited to see so many big names featuring – and by the end of the night, we could be looking at an Event of the Year contender.
