Adrien Broner Believes He Gets Nothing Out Of Fighting Regis Prograis
Adrien Broner isn’t interested in fighting Regis Prograis.
Prograis has called for the fight to happen and said he would be the first fighter to KO Broner. The hope for Prograis is to face Broner if he beats Micelle Rivera, however, Broner doesn’t see the need for the fight to happen.
“He’s a good kid,” Broner told Custer in reference to Prograis (via boxingscene). “He could fight. Southpaw. But, you know, at this point, you know, I get nothing out of fighting Regis at this point. Like I told him and some of his people – we talk, like Mack Maine from YCMB, Young Money. You know what I mean? They from New Orleans or whatever. So, me and Mack Maine talk sh-t and I tell him all the time, ‘I’m gonna f–k Regis up.’ You know what I mean? But it’s all love.
“You know, I love Mack Maine and I actually got love for Regis. You know, any time he fight, I hope he win. And, you know, like I told him, man, you know, just focus on your career, you know, try to go win another world title, keep building your name and we can make a mega-fight. It’ll be a big fight. I’ll f–k him up. I’ll f–k buddy up, though.”
Adrien Broner, who is 31-years-old, has not boxed since he lost a decision to Manny Pacquiao in January of 2019 for the WBA (Regular) welterweight title. During his career, he holds notable wins over Antonio DeMarco, Carlos Molina, Paulie Malignaggi, and Gavin Rees among others.
Regis Prograis, meanwhile, is 25-1 and returned to the win column back in October with a TKO win over Juan Heraldez after losing a majority decision to Josh Taylor.
