Adrien Broner Believes Shakur Stevenson Would Be The Toughest Fight For Gervonta Davis
Adrien Broner thinks Shakur Stevenson would give the most problems to Gervonta Davis.
Davis is set to fight Hector Luis Garcia on January 7 and after that, he will take on Ryan Garcia in a massive sport for the sport. It is also a fight many are torn on who will win, but for Broner, he thinks the toughest fight for ‘Tank’ is Shakur Stevenson.
“If I had to—I mean it’s not a mystery,” Broner told FightHubTV during a press conference in Omaha, Nebraska, to announce his Feb. 18 fight against Ivan Redkach (via BoxingScene). “In my opinion, Shakur Stevenson would be the most difficult fight for Tank, but Tank but what it takes to figure out any fighter, he’s got what it takes to adjust, to do what he got to do to get the victory … Shakur Stevenson would probably be the one that give him the most difficult time in the ring.”
If Davis gets past Ryan Garcia and does fight Stevenson, it would be a legacy-defining fight for both men. It’s also hopefully a step in the right direction for the best to fight the best in boxing, which hasn’t always been the case.
Gervonta Davis (27-0) is coming off a TKO win over Rolando Romero back in May and before that, edged out Isaac Cruz by decision. In his career, he also holds notable wins over Mario Barrios, Leo Santa Cruz, Francisco Fonseca, and Yuriorkis Gamboa among others.
Shakur Stevenson (19-0) is set to move up in weight after missing the super featherweight limit last time out and having to vacate his belts. In his career, he holds notable wins over Robson Conceicao, Oscal Valdez, and Jamel Herring among others.
Do you agree with Adrien Broner that Shakur Stevenson is the toughest fight for Gervonta Davis?
