Adrien Broner Eyes Regis Prograis After He Beats Bill Hutchinson This Weekend
Adrien Broner has his eyes on Regis Prograis.
Broner is set to return to the ring on Friday night at the Casino Miami Jai Alai in Miami, Florida, against Bill Hutchinson. It’s the first time Broner fights in two years and he is a sizeable betting favorite, and with that, Broner is confident he will get his hand raised.
If Adrien Broner does defeat Hutchinson as many expect, Broner hopes to secure a title shot against Regis Prograis next time out.
“Hell yeah [I want to fight him for the title], Regis already know. If he’s still got that belt, I’m coming to take it. “We’re going to make it happen. We’re going to go get Regis – but we’re going to take care of this business and then we’re going to go get Regis for sure,” Broner told Fight Hub TV. “I don’t hate on Regis, I always shout him out. I’m happy for what he’s done. He just won another world title again, I’m proud of him too, but his name is on my list. There are a lot of people, but Regis’ name is definitely on there.”
It shouldn’t be a surprise to see Broner call out Prograis as he has been vocal about wanting to fight him for quite some time. It’s also a fight that many fans have wanted to see the hope is the bout gets made should Broner win.
Adrien Broner (34-4-1 and one No Contest) hasn’t fought since February 2021 when he beat Jovanie Santiago by decision. The win over Santiago marked his first fight in over a year following his loss to Manny Pacquiao. In his career, Broner holds notable wins over Carlos Molina, Khabib Allakhverdiev, and Antonio DeMarco among others.
