Adrien Broner Reveals He’s Sober And Ready To Achieve His Goal Of Being ‘One Of The Best Boxers Ever’
Adrien Broner has revealed he is now sober and ready to achieve his goals he set out for.
Broner, the multiple-time champion, said he is liquor-free and focused on his health, and trying to become one of the best boxers ever.
“Good morning today I ran 6 miles in 54 minutes. Y’all, it’s not hard to change your life,” Broner revealed in a statement released through his social media (via BoxingScene). “I went from overweight 57 pounds waking up not even drinking water first and I take a shot of 1942 and start drinking for the rest of the day to waking up one day at a time and telling myself I’m [gonna] change this shit and become what I know I can be.
“That is [to be] “One of the Best Boxers EVER” and I didn’t look back. Now, I’m months in and liquor free and over 30 pounds down. If you know me [then] you know I love to drink but I LOVE my family and money more!”
Adrien Broner has not fought since January of 2019 where he lost a decision to Manny Pacquiao where he was fighting for the WBA welterweight title. He is 0-2-1 in his last three with the other loss coming to Mikey Garcia and a draw to Jessie Vargas. In his career, he has beaten the likes of Paulie Malignaggi, Carlos Molina, Khabib Allakhverdiev. He has also the former WBO junior lightweight, WBC lightweight, WBA welterweight, and WBA light welterweight champion.
Currently, Adrien Broner doesn’t have his next fight booked but should get a big name next time out. He still is one of the top pound-for-pound boxers in the sport. Now that he is taking his career seriously again, he could very well become a champion again.
Who do you think Adrien Broner will fight in his return to the ring?
