Andy Ruiz Jr. Takes Aim At Deontay Wilder Over Pay: ‘They’re Trying To Pay Me What I Got For My Last Fight’
Andy Ruiz Jr. is frustrated with Deontay Wilder and what they are offering him.
Wilder vs. Ruiz Jr. has been a fight many fans have wanted for quite some time, but it hasn’t come to fruition. As of right now, it’s uncertain if the fight will ever happen, and taking to his Instagram Live, Ruiz Jr. claimed he isn’t ducking Wilder at all and he’s not happy with what the purse is.
“‘Stop ducking Wilder’—ain’t nobody ducking Wilder, man,” Ruiz Jr. said on an Instagram Live (h/t BoxingScene). “Tell him to pay me what I deserve, bro. They’re trying to pay me what I got for my last fight. It doesn’t make sense. You’re f—— climbing up the ladders and then you get a big task and you’re supposed to beat him, and I f——- beat him, and then the purses is supposed to go higher and higher and higher. That’s the way it goes. If you don’t know, then don’t say sh!t.”
Andy Ruiz Jr. is coming off back-to-back wins over Luis Ortiz and Chris Arreola and the hope was to face Deontay Wilder next. However, he says he wants $10 million to box Wilder and he is getting offered the same amount he got offered to box Ortiz.
“$10 million or less? I’ll fight him for $10 million, f— it,” Ruiz Jr. said. “If you show Wilder what I be doin’ inside the gym and how I be looking, he’s not going to want to fight. He’s going to want to pay me less money. F—— p-ssy ass foo.”
With Ruiz Jr. not happy with the pay, perhaps Wilder and his team turn to Anthony Joshua and try and secure that fight. ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has not fought since October of last year when he KO’d Robert Helenius in the first round.
