Anthony Joshua Only Focused On The Expectations He Has For Himself
Anthony Joshua says he doesn’t let the outside noise impact him as he’s only focused on himself.
Joshua is set to return to the ring on Saturday against Daniel Dubois for the IBF heavyweight title. The Brit is the betting favorite, but he says he doesn’t pay attention to any of that. Instead, he’s just focused on himself.
“You know what it is, just do your best. I think that’s the main thing. If you do your best no one can criticize you because what else can you give other than your best? So for me, personally, you can critique me. As long as I give my best I can look myself in the mirror and be happy,” Joshua said, via BadLeftHook.
“With boxing I just looked at it and said ‘let me give my best and wherever that takes me, it takes me,’ and it just brought me here. So for me, personally, everyone’s got an opinion, everyone’s got an expectation, but for me personally I’ve got an expectation of myself and I’m just trying to live up to the expectation I have of myself,” Joshua added.
Although Anthony Joshua says he’s just focused on himself, he knows the fight against Daniel Dubois will be tough. As Joshua has nothing but praise fro Dubois as he says the champ is a great fighter.
“Great fighter, phenomenal fighter, and he’s worked hard to be in this position now. So everything he’s done in the past has led him here now so his hard work is paying off and he’s a hard worker,” Joshua added.
Anthony Joshua is 28-3 as a pro and on a four-fight winning streak. The Brit is coming off a KO win over Francis Ngannou. Also on the win streak, he beat Otto Wallin, Robert Helenius, and Jermaine Franklin.
