Anthony Joshua Optimistic About Future Tyson Fury Fight
Anthony Joshua is eager for his chance to fight Tyson Fury in the future.
Joshua vs. Fury is a fight that many fans wanted to see, but currently, it’s not a fight that has been made. Joshua is set to face Francis Ngannou on Friday while Fury will face Oleksandr Usyk.
But, should both Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury get the win, a matchup between the two seems likely, which the Brit is hopeful for.
“Not in-depth like that [finding a location and date for the fight] but there’s a map,” Joshua explained. “For example, someone would say, ‘These are the checkpoints,’ and if I can complete these checkpoints, then Fury’s part of my journey, and I’m part of his, I’m sure, as well – it would be silly not to. Fury’s rescheduled bout with Oleksandr Usyk takes place on May 18, and there is a rematch clause in, meaning they are tied into two fights with one another.
Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury would be one of the top boxing fights in recent memory, and one of the more anticipated matchups. But, both will need to get their hand raised in the coming weeks to make the fight happen.
Anthony Joshua is 27-3 and coming off a stoppage win over Otto Wallin. Before that, he scored a KO win over Robert Helenius as the Brit is on a three-fight winning streak. He also holds notable wins over Andy Ruiz Jr., Kubrat Pulev, Joseph Parker, and Wladimir Klitschko among others.
