Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury – Betting Preview
It’s not official, and it’s far, far away from being that – but talk of a possible Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury superfight continue to circulate.
As we know, two of the biggest heavyweights of this – or perhaps any other generation – are Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury. They have both, respectively, been able to accomplish some truly incredible things during their time in the sport. However, in the wake of two losses each to Oleksandr Usyk and AJ being knocked out by Daniel Dubois, there are far more questions than answers about what’s next for them.
In our mind, the answer is very simple: fight each other. We’ve been hearing about Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury happening for years now but for one reason or another, it’s never quite come to fruition. We won’t pretend like it can be as big as it once would’ve been because that simply isn’t true, but that doesn’t mean it can’t still happen. This contest would easily sell out Wembley Stadium ten times over, and although Fury claims to be retired, we aren’t buying it.
So, whether you’re a casual fan or a hardcore looking to put some money down through Unibet, we thought it’d be good to run down what we believe would happen if this actually transpires.
Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury – the big one
Tyson Fury has always been seen as the more technical fighter of the two and in a general sense, that’s probably right. Alas, we think that people are still drastically underrating Anthony Joshua’s game – which is crazy when you consider just how far into his fighting career he is.
If he’s able to go back to the drawing board and get back to the fundamentals that first took him all the way to a world title, we can easily envisage him being competitive in this fight, and perhaps even winning it. We don’t even think he’d need to stop Fury in order to do it, either. He needs to impose himself, use his speed, and avoid getting tied up in the clinch with ‘The Gypsy King’ – who we all know can use his overwhelming size to his advantage.
As for Fury, he needs to lean on the knockout precision that he used against Deontay Wilder and Dillian Whyte. That’s the kind of fire power that he needs in order to get through someone like Joshua, and that’s what we think he’ll utilise.
In terms of an official prediction, we genuinely think this is more unpredictable than people give it credit for as a legitimate boxing contest. Tyson Fury is going to be the favorite but Anthony Joshua is as live of an underdog as they come. Unfortunately, we do think that even if he rolls back the years, it’s a bit too tall of an ask for him based on what went down in the Dubois fight.
Either way, we just want to see this happen before it’s too late.
