Brian McIntyre Says Terence Crawford Would Beat Canelo Alvarez Like He Did To Errol Spence Jr.
Brian McIntyre, the trainer of Terence Crawford, believes his fighter would beat Canelo Alvarez as dominantly as he did against Errol Spence Jr.
Crawford is without an opponent as he is chasing a massive fight against Canelo Alvarez. It would be intriguing to see what the potential odds would be, but McIntyre is confident his fighter would win the bout with ease.
“That’s probably what he wants, Canelo. Bud beats his ass. He outboxes him. [Weight] don’t matter. Bud’s been fighting bigger people all his life. We know how to roll with punches, we know how to take your power. We can take your power away from you. How do you take the power away from a puncher? Timing. It would be Errol Spence-Crawford II,” McIntyre said to FightHub TV (via BoxingScene)… I respect that, because you get beat by the smaller man… The real boxing fans know Bud can beat Canelo. He might be bigger, but he don’t got the height, he don’t got the reach. He’s got a good boxing IQ, but he doesn’t have that crazy IQ that Terence has.”
Before the fight can happen, Canelo Alvarez is set to take on Jamie Munguia, and should the Mexican win, McIntyre is hoping Crawford can face Alvarez next in what would be one of the biggest fights in boxing.
Terence Crawford is currently without a fight as he hasn’t fought since he beat Errol Spence Jr. by TKO in July in a one-sided performance. It was a dominant showing from Crawford to improve to 40-0 and retain his WBO welterweight title, while also winning the WBA, WBC, IBF and The Ring welterweight titles. Crawford holds notable wins over David Avanseyan, Shawn Porter, Kell Brook, Amir Khan, and Jeff Horn among others.
