Brian Norman Jr. Targets Mario Barrios and Jaron Ennis Among Others
Brian Norman Jr. has revealed his hit list which includes Mario Barrios and Jaron Ennis.
Norman Jr. was elevated to WBO welterweight champion after winning the interim belt by knocking out Giovani Santillan. After the win, and being elevated to the champ, Norman Jr. says the plan is to get a unification bout.
“I just want unifications,” Norman Jr. said. “I don’t care who’s next. I don’t care what the order is. I just want my belts… I was already believing that I was the champion anyway, so that part of it was no different. It just lit the fire. The fact that I am the champion now just solidifies that. Now I am targeted, so I have to step up my assassin game and terminate everybody that steps in the ring with me – even worse.”
With Norman Jr. wanting a title unification bout, he points to matchups against Mario Barrios (WBC), Jaron Ennis (IBF) or Eimantas Stanionis (WBA) next time out.
“I must eliminate every target that gets in the ring,” he said.
Brian Norman Jr. is 26-0 and two NC and coming off the win over Santillan. In his career, he has notable wins over Quinton Randall and Janelson Bocachica among others.
In his career, Norman has credited his father for being a big part of his career and helping him become the world champion at just 23-years-old.
“He was the hypest person ever about it,” Norman Jr. said of his father. “You can call him right now, and he’s probably still on 1,000. He’ll forever be up about it. It means a lot because he did everything by himself, from a very young age – younger than I am right now. He was able to raise, train and mold a champion from the ground up over 23 years.”
