Caleb Plant Eyes Jermall Charlo Fight Next, Calls Him ‘Easy Work’
Caleb Plant wants to box Jermall Charlo next.
Plant, the former IBF super middleweight champion, is coming off the KO loss to Canelo Alvarez, now has his eyes set on Charlo who is the WBC middleweight champion.
“You have been indirect Charlo, so I’ll be straight forward. We can figure it out before the end of the year. You are easy work,” Plant stated on social media to Charlo.
The fight certainly could happen due to the fact both men are promoted by Premier Boxing Championship, Charlo has also talked about moving up to 168-pounds, and it would be a big fight for him in his move to the weight class. If Canelo Alvarez also moves up, he could vacate the belts at 168lbs which could leave Charlo and Plant to fight for the belt.
Caleb Plant (21-1), as mentioned, is coming off the KO loss to Alvarez to lose his belt. It was his second fight of 2021 as in January, he defeated Caleb Truax to retain his belt. The American defended his belt three times with his other wins over Vincent Feigenbutz and Mike Lee while he won the belt with a decision win over Jose Uzcatgui. He also holds notable wins over Rogelio Medina, and Andrew Hernandez.
Jermall Charlo (32-0), last fought back in June where he beat Juan Macias Montiel by decision in his lone fight of 2021, as he retained his WBC middleweight belt. Prior to that, he picked up a big win as he defeated Sergiy Derevyanchenko by decision. In his career, he holds notable wins over Dennis Hogan, Brandon Adams, Matt Korobov, Hugo Centeno Jr., Jorge Sebastian Heiland, Julian Williams, Austin Trout, and Corneilus Brundrage.
