Callum Walsh Booked To Return In June
Callum Walsh is set to return to the boxing ring on June 7.
Walsh is 10-0 and earned the WBA Continental Super Americas welterweight title in the St. Patrick’s Day weekend event at the Theater at Madison Square Garden. The Irishman who is trained by Freddie Roach stopped Dauren Yeleussinov in the ninth round. He is now booked to return on June 7 at the Chumash Casino in Santa Ynez, California, against an opponent TBD.
“Callum’s fight night was in the top 20 of all boxing events held in the historic Theater at Madison Square Garden,” said Tom Loeffler, whose 360 Promotions held the event. “That’s a huge statement for only his second fight in New York City and the storied history of the venue. Callum’s event was also the highest-rated boxing show in the history of UFC Fight Pass.”
Walsh also has the support of UFC CEO Dana White who often promotes his fights on social media and heaps praise on the Irishman.
“Callum is a very talented guy,” White said. “He’s got unbelievable knockout power. What I love about the way they’re moving this kid is fighting real guys with real records. We’re gonna help build the kid and see if we can get him to a world title.”
Callum Walsh is currently 10-0 as a pro with eight of his wins coming by knockout. The Irishman will be looking to defend his WBA Continental Super Americas welterweight title for the first time on June 7.
