Canelo Alvarez, Caleb Plant Have Heartfelt Moment In Ring After Their Fight (Watch)

Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant had a heartfelt chat after Alvarez scored an 11th-round stoppage win to become the undisputed super-middleweight champion.

In the lead-up to the fight, Alvarez and Plant did not get along as at the press conference, the two went back-and-forth and it resulted in them getting physical with one another. However, during the fight, the two were talking to one another as Plant asked Alvarez if he was good.

Although Plant didn’t get the win, the two were quick to talk to one another after the match to settle thier differences.

Canelo began by telling Plant: “You are a good fighter.”

To which Plant responded: “I’m sad.”

Canelo insisted: “Don’t be ashamed, you are a great fighter man. And I’m sorry for everything. But at the end of the day, we are men, and we are human. I’m sorry for everything.”

Plant then told Alvarez: “Can I tell you something? When I said, ‘Motherf***er,’ I would never talk about your mother. Because I don’t have a mother, my mom died.”

Canelo replied: “You have a really good and beautiful family. You are my family.”

It is a nice to see Canelo Alvarez and Caleb Plant show respect to one another after the fight. It was a competive fight but in the end, Alvarez was the better fighter and got the win.

With the win, Alvarez plans to return in May as he wants some time off wiht his family.

“In May because my body needs rest. I need to rest. I need to recover. So, it’s probably gonna be May when I come back,” Alvarez said after the fight. “The wear and tear really is during the training sessions, trying to make weight. That’s when you feel really the tiredness of it all. But right now, if I have to tell you, I feel a hundred percent. My body is responding splendidly. And all I need now is some rest until May, and then we will go on to the next challenge.”
