Carl Froch Blasts Tyson Fury For Reportedly Agreeing To Box Francis Ngannou

Carl Froch is not a fan of Tyson Fury reportedly agreeing to fight Francis Ngannou next time out.

Fury has been waiting for his next fight for quite some time and many hoped it would be against Oleksandr Usyk. However, that won’t be the case as Fury will reportedly be boxing former UFC heavyweight champ Francis Ngannou next time out, which Froch is not a fan of.

“Frank Warren’s just announced Tyson Fury will fight Francis Ngannou, who is an MMA fighter, so it’s another crossover fight – load of rubbish. He’s on about, ‘the game’s changed, it’s going to change the whole sport’. Absolute load of s**t. I don’t like swearing, but it’s a load of sh!t. We don’t want to see that fight. We want to see Tyson Fury in there with Usyk,” Froch told Bettingsites.

Ultimately, Carl Froch believes the fight is a landslide, but knows there aren’t a whole lot of other fights with Anthony Joshua also booked. However, he says he hopes that fight does happen in 2024 but is confident Fury would beat Joshua should they fight.

“They’re not giving Anthony Joshua a chance against Fury. I think it’s fair because he had back-to-back defeats to Usyk and he’s looking like a man that’s fighting with no confidence. He doesn’t come forward anymore. He’s on his back foot, he’s defensive first and he gasses after 8-9 rounds. I don’t think he’s got the engine,” Froch said.

Tyson Fury is a perfect 33-0-1 and coming off a TKO win over Derek Chisora and before that, beat Dillian Whyte by TKO.
