Chris Weidman: Floyd Mayweather Tried To Jack My Bro’s Girl
UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman has been a lot more outspoken lately, for instance, claiming he would beat middleweight contender Michael Bisping with his eyes closed. Perhaps cottoning on to the fact that talk sells fights, ‘The All-American’ has a hungry ‘murderer’s row’ of potential title fights coming up, and is really starting to let loose and bang his gums. No, I’m not talking about another terrible freestyle rap, so don’t worry.
During a video posted on MMADigest, Weidman talks about a variety of subjects, starting with a potential future fight with Jon Jones:
‘For all the fans that have questions about me and Jon Jones, one day I’ll try to answer those questions for you. I’ll make that super fight happen, I might come in as the underdog but (that’s OK)’
”The All-American’ also details an instance with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather, when ‘Money’ tried to steal his team mate’s (Aljamain Sterling) girlfriend:
“”I was with Floyd Mayweather, in the middle of talking. All he is doing is talking about how much money and cars and planes he owns, then all of a sudden he stops talking, he just stops and was just looking up into the sun.”
“I’m like, ‘what is he doing?’ I look up and it’s like a silhouette of this angel. You can see her hair, and she’s like sparkling in the sun. It ends up being that he was staring at Aljamain’s girlfriend,” he continues. “He then gets his security guards to go and get her,”
Mayweather’s antics outside the boxing ring are notorious to say the least, but there seems to be an indication of good humour in the story too, as Weidman continues:
“I’m like ‘is he really doing that in front of me? Is he really trying to get guys to get my boy’s girlfriend?'”
“Basically Aljamain stood up for himself. He said ‘I’m 11-0 in MMA, and you’re only… 48-0 in boxing. And MMA is better than boxing so I can beat you up, so don’t you dare take my girlfriend!” (Weidman laughs), “Mayweather was like, ‘this dude is for real’, so Mayweather just backed down. He was just too tough. The eye that his girlfriend was giving Mayweather, they were like meant to be. She was in love, but thank God, Aljamain stepped up!”
Sterling is currently a hot prospect in the UFC bantamweight division, boasting an undefeated tally and three fight/two finish streak in the UFC. It would have undoubtedly been front page news across the board had the two got in to a scuffle, but thatkfully Weidman was able to act as a cooler this time.
