Coach: Jake Paul vs. Tommy Fury ‘Will Be A Real Surprise To A Lot Of Boxing Fans’
BJ Flores, the head coach of Jake Paul, is confident his pupil will make a statement on Sunday in Saudi Arabia.
Paul and Tommy Fury are finally set to box on Sunday in a massive fight for both men’s careers. It has been a fight both men have wanted as both are confident they will win by KO. Although Paul is confident, Flores believes his fighter will make a statement and surprise a lot of people with his performance.
“Jake is extremely committed to making a statement on February 26th. He has sacrificed everything to be at his best in less than two weeks and we are only days away. There is nothing left to say. 2023 will be a massive year for Jake,” Flores told BoxingScene.com. “All is good. Training camp has been excellent. Jake is in tremendous shape. This fight will be a real surprise to a lot of boxing fans. Grab your popcorn and watch the show he puts on.”
Although Flores has been getting all the attention for Paul’s career but he says a lot of credit goes to Danny Smith who is the co-trainer.
“Danny and I have almost 20 years history together and Danny is one of the greatest boxing minds I know. Danny has been crucial to Jake’s development and we are only getting better,” said Flores.
Jake Paul (6-0) is coming off the biggest win of his career as he scored a decision win over Anderson Silva. Prior to that, he had back-to-back wins over Tyron Woodley, including the second being by KO. He also has stoppage wins over Ben Askren, Nate Robinson, and AnEsonGib.
Tommy Fury (8-0) hasn’t fought professionally since April of 2022 but did have an exhibition match against Rolly Lambert in November. Fury also has wins over Anthony Taylor and Jordan Grant among others.
