Conor Benn Eyes Adrien Broner Next
Conor Benn is interested in fighting Adrien Broner next time out.
Benn is coming off a ten-round unanimous decision victory over veteran Adrian Granados with scores of 00-90, 99-91, and 97-93. It was a dominant decision victory for Benn who says he was impressed with his performance but says it was also frustrating as his opponent was running away the entire time.
“It was very frustrating. He was talking like we were going to come together like Mac trucks and put on a great fight for the fans,” Benn said. “But he was on his bike the whole fight even though I was ready to go toe-to-toe and let him have it. I had to hunt him down which is what I’ve done.”
Although it wasn’t the most entertaining fight for the fans, Benn still improved to 19-0 and is looking like a legit title contender. He said after the fight he wants to headline in England in December and one fight he wants is Adrien Broner, he also said he’d go to the States to fight Broner.
“I’ll have Broner next,” declared Benn when speaking with TalkSport. “I’ll have Broner here at the O2, I’ll have him at a stadium out in America, it doesn’t bother me. Broner is definitely an opponent I’d love to fight and share the ring with this year. Four-time world division champion, I won’t shy away from anybody and if he wants it, I’ll give it to him. That’s not a problem.”
Adrien Broner (34-4-1) is coming off a victory over Jovanie Santiago in his return after losing to Manny Pacquiao by decision. It was a disappointing performance as it was a closer fight than many expected it to be. Whether or not Broner would want to face Benn is uncertain but it would be a good fight for the fans.
