Daniel Dubois Wants Joe Joyce Next After Smashing Ricardo Snijders (Full Fight Video)
Daniel Dubois (15-0, 14 KO) racked up an easy win today (Sat. August 29) over the Netherland’s Ricardo Snijders (18-2, 8KO) and now has his sights set on a clash with compatriot Joe Joyce.
The 22-year cruised to a second-round TKO victory over Snijders, with the bout taking place behind closed doors at the BT Sport Studio in Stratford.
The fight seemed over before it had started with Dubois sending Snijders to the canvas three times in the opening round, following a series of brutal body shots. The Dutchman managed to come out at the start of the second, but after a punishing left to the body, the fight was called in Dubois’ favor.
” It was just a little warm-up, I am just getting started plenty of more to come, ” Dubois said in his post-fight interview.
” I knew, a foregone conclusion that I was going to win, so it was just about getting the ball rolling and getting in there, getting back under the bright lights after all the training camp and everything and getting the victory.
When asked if he was trying to send a message to Joyce with his stoppage win, Dubois responded with the following.
” I did not even want to send a message to Joe; it’s between me and him its personal, so when we get it on, we will know what’s up. This was about me getting back under the lights and doing what I do best.”
So far, no date has been confirmed as to when the two British heavyweights will face off, but when the fight does take place, it will provide everyone with a better understanding of just where Dubois sits in the current heavyweight landscape.
