Darren Till knocks out Anthony Taylor in Misfits Boxing encounter
Former UFC star Darren Till made a winning start to life in Misfits Boxing with an emphatic knockout victory over Anthony Taylor in their Misfits Boxing collision.
For the longest time, Darren Till has been ridiculed for both the end to his UFC career and his post-UFC run up to this point. His hope was that in Misfits Boxing, he could change the narrative. He was originally scheduled to take on Tommy Fury in his debut but after he pulled out, Till was given the challenge of battling Anthony Taylor – who is a seasoned veteran in the influencer boxing space.
The expectation was that Darren Till would be able to get the job done fairly easily. In the end, it was actually a pretty competitive fight, but the Liverpudlian was still able to register a sixth round knockout to get his latest venture up and running in style.
As you can see below, the contest probably exceeded the expectations that were placed on it.
Darren Till gets it done
When Darren Till is operating at his very best, his striking is something to behold. In mixed martial arts, he gave a lot of notable fighters problems before eventually exiting the UFC – and 90% of the time, even in fights that he lost, he was able to show that he was more than deserving of his place in the promotion.
For Darren Till, the big question is this: what’s next? Dana White was asked about the fight after UFC 311 and while he didn’t know who Taylor was, he still acknowledged that he saw the result on social media.
At some point down the road, it’d be nice to see him get back in the cage to see what he’s able to achieve in another run with the UFC. For now, though, Darren Till deserves to sit back and enjoy this one.
