David Haye Expects Win For Anthony Joshua Against Oleksandr Usyk: ‘It’s Gonna Be Pretty Devastating’
David Haye is not expecting Anthony Joshua to lose his heavyweight titles next month.
Joshua gets set for his second title defense in his second reign as heavyweight champion when he faces Oleksandr Usyk on September 25.
Although Joshua is the favorite and the naturally bigger man, many observers feel Usyk as the ring IQ and technical boxing to beat him and spoil any plans for a title unification clash with the winner of Tyson Fury vs. Deontay Wilder.
Not Haye, though.
Although the former cruiserweight and heavyweight champion believes Joshua could be in trouble in a pure boxing match, he expects “AJ” to fight smart and not face much resistance.
He also added that he felt it was going to be “pretty devastating” to put it kindly.
“Not much, I don’t think,” Haye said when asked how much trouble Usyk can cause Joshua (via Michael Benson). “If AJ decides to have a tit-for-tat boxing match, then he’d have some trouble, but he’s not stupid enough to do that.
“… It’s gonna be pretty devastating.”
Do you agree with Haye?
