Devin Haney reveals timeline for huge boxing return

Devin Haney

Devin Haney has revealed his timeline for a return to professional boxing, nine months after his defeat-turned-no contest against Ryan Garcia.

It’s been an interesting few years for Devin Haney. After moving to 31-0 in December 2023 with a big win over Regis Prograis, his next challenge was a pretty fascinating one: Ryan Garcia. While the WBC super lightweight title wasn’t on the line due to Garcia missing weight, Ryan still managed to put on an incredible performance and actually pulled off the decision win over his long-time rival.

Fortunately for Devin Haney, the result was changed to a no contest as a result of Garcia failing a drug test. Since then, the 26-year-old has been forced to reflect on what went wrong in the fight and consider what his next step should be.

Now, as per the man himself on social media, it seems as if we have some clarity on what to expect in the months ahead.

Devin Haney reveals return plans

“March.. I’m back.”

For Devin Haney, it’ll now be a case of trying to win back a lot of fans that he may have lost. He was pretty confident in his ability to defeat Ryan Garcia, and regardless of the failed drug test, he was completely outclassed. Plus, by the time he fights again, it would’ve been six years since he last scored a finish in the ring.

People want to see him really unleash a new side of himself, especially given the fact he’s only 26. He has so much time to grow and develop, and depending on the opponent, it’ll be interesting to see how he approaches his comeback.

One thing is for sure – all eyes are going to be on him to see how he reacts to trying to climb back to the top.
